CITB stands for Construction Industry Training Board, established on 21 July 1964 to make people skilled, professional, safe and risk-free through training and assessments. The CITB test is designed for people planning to work or are still working in the industry at a certain level to obtain a CSCS Card. This test is administered across the UK at more than 150 test centres. The purpose of the CITB test is to educate people in health safety, and the environment before entering the construction industry to prevent accidents and hazards on construction sites, which is in the interests of employees and employers. CITB regularly updates the test to ensure its relevance and accuracy.
The CITB has designed a mandatory health and safety test for construction site work. It is an online touch screen test organised at a CITB-approved test centre. The CITB test has 50 questions; applicants must answer them within 45 minutes. You need to score 45 marks (90%) to pass the test, valid for two years from the pass date. To apply for the CITB Test, the candidate must hold a valid photogenic ID, such as a UK Driving License, Valid Passport or UK Biometrics Residence Permit. If you do not hold any of these, you can complete a waiver form and get this endorsed. You should be 16 years or above. CITB has categorised this test into three types per its requirements and the responsibilities of the work.
